Self-Discovery is a Journey: Why Knowing Who You Are is More Important Than Achieving Your Goals

Many people come to coaching with specific goals in mind. But to be truly happy we need to do more than achieve our goals - we need to know who we are - and express that in the world. This is called being authentic.

So often in society, we are told that we need to have our lives figured out. We need to know what our passion is, what our purpose is, and what we want to do with our lives. We set goals and strive to achieve them, thinking that once we reach them, we will finally be happy.

But the truth is that oftentimes, once we achieve our goals, we realize that they don't make us as happy as we thought they would. This is because lasting happiness comes from within, not from external achievement. Don't get me wrong, achieving your goals is important. But it's not the be-all-end-all. In order to truly be happy, you need to first know who you are.

The journey of self-discovery is not an easy one. It requires introspection, vulnerability, and courage. But it is so worth it. Because when you know who you are, you can live your life authentically - and that is where true happiness comes from.
